the sony settlement!
December 31, 2005 · Leave a Comment
Customers who purchased the rootkit infected CD’s can recieve $7.50 and a free download per CD, or three free downloads per CD. the settlement terms require Sony to provide the settlement related downloads via at least 3 separate venues (ie., not just Sony BMGs service – iTunes is named as one they’re going to try to use in order to accommodate Mac users). although the list of available album downloads can be limited by Sony to 200. also.. all customers who purchased the poisoned discs are entitled to ‘drm free’ replacement versions. sony is also required to a safe tool for removing the rootkits. he settlement will not take place until it is approved by the court. Proof of purchase will be required, or proof of a return if a disc was taken back to a retailer after November 14.

Site Helps You Track Your Amazon Purchases For Price Drop Credits
December 30, 2005 · Leave a Comment
Amazon.com has a price guarantee policy to credit buyers back cash. If the product you purchased within the last 30 days has dropped in price they will credit you back the difference.
After you make an Amazon purchase, drop by their site and enter your item into their database. They do the rest. They check everyday and send you an email if the price has dropped below your purchase price. The email even includes a link where you claim your credit.
very wow!!

‘Alaska Airlines’ spam-comments on emergency landing passenger’s blog?
December 30, 2005 · Leave a Comment
a passenger was on board and Alaska Airlines plane during an emergency landing and subsequently blogged about it. Now he’s being inundated with insulting ‘comment spam’ from IP addressess that track back to… guess who?
Alaska Airlines.
it’s actually a pretty interesting read (if you have some time to kill). apparently really bad spelling is a requirement for commenting on this guys site/working at alaska airlines – ha!
and.. as a side comment.. the really bad spelling… does not really help to instill confidence in the operation of airline itself… even tho they’re using some technical airline jargon.
