Oh no! Not another learning experience!

sorry i missed you this past weekend!  when i got up sat am i realized that the handyman hadn’t gotten as far as i was assuming… i was there to paint the kitchen cabinet fronts and they hadn’t yet been sanded down.  turned my whole schedule on it’s ear, ya know??!!  in any case…. life as i know it is about to change in a huge way… again!  i just accepted another position in hickory, nc. ..they are heavy into domino.  the town is at the foothills of the mountains and from the pics i’ve seen it looks absolutely gorgeous!!  they have a ymca with a pool and internet access, so i think i should do just fine ;  )  altho… this will be my first time living……..alone!!  ever!  my start date is nov 13, so i’ll be heading down there sat nov 11.  that gives me 2 weekends to get the rest of the stuff out of the house and tie up loose ends.  supposedly the house will close on nov 20 (or within 7 days). my realtor is going to see if i can’t sign everything ahead of time.  the only items remaining are the termite inspec (which wont be a prob since i just had a clean informal inspec by my regular pest guy) and the appraisal.  so.. fingers crossed!    how are things on your end??  where’d your boat end up???  i don’t have your # in my cell anymore (since i had to get a new phone)…. send it to me as i don’t have internet at the house anymore and can’t google ya’!!

i always feel that when things are going well… i tend to write more… and if that axiom is in any way even closely representative of the truth, i think it’s safe to infer that life in general has really thrown me, lately. it’s funny how sometimes when you think you’ve finally gotten a handle on things.. how you see your future.. what you think you’re about.. the path to your goals just coming into focus… and then WAM! in the blink of an eye you’re reminded of how fundamentally temporary everything is. ‘ephemeral’… what a haunting word… i’ll never forget the first time i heard it.. 11th grade, french class.. reading/translating Camu’s L’Etrangere.. and it just weighed on me.. like a word sometimes does when connotation is greater than the word itself. and even still.. in the spirit of the irony of the universe…. even when we think (hope?) that we’re seeing the worst of it that we must be mindful to be grateful… even for the struggle itself.
