first date firsts

sunday was the best first date in my entire 41 years of spinning around the sun on this freak of nature planet

it was the first time i went to church on a date… first time i bought art proverbially with someone… first time i felt safe enough/brave enough to be completely unfiltered and totally exposed… first time i made out in a public park – perhaps inappropriately.. first time i visited my own backyard shed… and the first time espn was on my tv (shocking)… first time i had no need to question..

it’s 7:40pm… and i still need to vaccuum and clean the litter box!

had a nice day thus far… slept in… hit target for a new suitcase for upcoming dorothy-in-kansas adventure… pedicure and manicure (treat!)… nice lunch out with a friend and some good honest upfront mother-daughter communication.

finally talked to ms kellie, telecom-chick extraordinaire. for someone IN telecom…. she’s mighty had to get a hold of, telephonically ; )

and another unexpected phone call…. good air clearing.. closure. good stuff.

goin’ to hippie church again in asheville… this will be my 3rd time at hippie church… and it’s fantastic! it’s spiritual, rather than religious… very open and positive.. and secret-esque.. and it’s supports the idea that we are all connected… like a grove of redwoods (regardless of belief-system subscription). i know this sounds a little crazy, but the first time i went i actually had a hard time holding back tears owing to just an overwhelming feeling that it was just sooo the right place for me!! it’s like 90 mins of free heartening therapy ; ) and we know how i love my therapy!!!!! anyway.. have a picnic date right after. kinda excited about this particular person as he lived in DC for 8 years and was the editor of some un-named political magazine and even got arrested while protesting the us gov’t’s (opportunistic) policies in south america. (HOLD UP!!!!…… i know you KNOW that really got my attention). seriously… he had me at “protest” .. and anything after that was just superfluous!(ha) always love meeting interesting, smart, like-minded people ; )

my new bag is fantastic!! it’s strips of suede sewn together… even the strap is suede. i’ve vowed to carry bags that don’t advertise image or fashion… just bags i love ; )

i am soooooooo glad i planned this trip for myself way back in… what?? april? it seemed like the july 4th holiday was eons away.. et voila!! here it is.. like.. all of a sudden!

it seems randy, clint + i are soo on the same page about things to do…. so here’s what’s on tap for the weekend:
* hot yoga (isn’t regular yoga hot enough?? – ha!)
* a local amusement park (i am easily amused)
* find some horses to ride (goes with the hat!)
* go to a real country bar (steppin’ outside of my world just a tad)
* go to a real country gay bar (the safest place on earth for a girl to drink too much – ha!)
* have general loud obnoxious fun, laugh until our stomachs ache about the dollar tree daze and how amazingly absurd that place was and give many, many thanks for where we are now ; )

i had sent my dad a father’s day card.. for the first time in more than 10 years. it included a very heart-felt note letting him know that from this vantage point, i feel very blessed by all the challenges that i have faced in my life.. including the challenge of ‘our’ relationship…. and he’s never said anything about it.
