project: “life”

October 31, 2007 · 3 Comments

dang… it’s hard to believe that in a few short weeks i’ll have been in nc a year, already! crap!! i’m almost local… as demonstrated by my knowledge of where the ‘hickory tavern’ USED to be ; )

my natural knee-jerk reaction is to attempt to itemize all the things i have spent my time + energy on in order to enumerate my accomplishments in some crazy (possibly ocd) effort to measure my own productivity… as though ‘life’ were some dmaic project -ha! which… it kind of is, isn’t it?!!?!?!

so.. here goes:

* heal.
* be successful in new job
* find a fantastic perfect-for-me-house
* create a balance in my life……. (ie., add more fun)
* work on self: being healthy(ier).. being happy(ier)… being true to self+world (requires constant effort)
* work on having relationship with father (even if neither of us are perfect)
* explore spirituality….practice being present + living in moment + falling into gratitude
* explore creativity in new ways
* don’t be afraid to trip or fall or fail ; )

Re: Fw: Growing Pains: Can Web 2.0 Evolve Into An Enterprise Technology?

wow….. it’s good to know that there are people who don’t need to devote 100% of their work time to technology to be even more skilled, knowledgable and proficient at our jobs than we are.

apparently i rode the short bus to school.

Okay – this had me laughing before I even clicked the link. Do you know any tech-savvy business users . . . . . ?

Growing Pains: Can Web 2.0 Evolve Into An Enterprise Technology?

Interesting article.

“Forget outsourcing. the real threat to IT pros could be Web 2.0. While there’s a lot of hype and hubris surrounding wikis, mashups, and social networking, there’s also a lot of real innovation–much of it coming from increasingly tech-savvy business users, not the IT department.”

g i u l i a n i on torture:

“They talk about sleep deprivation. I mean, on that theory, I’m getting tortured running for president of the United States. That’s plain silly. That’s silly.”

with that kind of empathy and dismissiveness, i can really kinda see why his marriages don’t always workout.
